Membership Eligibility

Who Can Join

PCT membership is open to persons who:

  • Live in Plymouth County, Massachusetts

  • Work in Plymouth County, Massachusetts

  • Attends school in Plymouth County, Massachusetts

  • Worships in Plymouth County, Massachusetts

  • Regularly conducts business in Plymouth County, Massachusetts   

Membership is also open to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, participates in programs to alleviate poverty or distress, or participates in associations headquartered in; and businesses and other legal entities, incorporated and unincorporated organizations located in, or maintaining a facility located in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, a single political jurisdiction.

Since August 2022 when the credit union was granted a Low Income Designation (LID) from the NCUA, PCT Federal Credit Union has been able to enable our community to thrive through expanded services to low and moderate income families through. 

PCT is a federally-chartered credit union, organized under strict regulatory laws that are monitored and enforced by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the U.S. Government. All accounts are insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF).

Bridging Socioeconomic Gaps

Access to financial services and educational resources is essential to every person, regardless of location or socioeconomic status.

  • A majority of American teenagers, specifically 75%, do not have confidence in their understanding of personal finance

  • 25% of Americans report they do not have a trusted source to ask for financial advice

  • 23% of U.S. adults ages 18 to 29 have credit card debt that’s over 90 days overdue

  • 42% of adults worry about meeting their daily expenses as of 2020. 40% were concerned about their financial status, while 37% reported they were just getting by financially

  • In 2021, Americans reported losing an average of $1,389 because of a lack of personal finance knowledge

  • 64% of American adults report that money is a significant stressor in their life
